This is a better research list for Newbies since it gives a little more information..

If you are in the Discovery Age (first age) please follow this simple and easy guide to what to research.

Research in this order:

  1. Higher Education (150 Knowledge)
  2. Electricity Production (50 Knowledge)
  • Build power plants -- Make sure you build enough before researching Consumption or you will run into trouble..
  1. Electricity Consumption (50 Knowledge)
  2. Construct University
  3. Seismic Surveying 100 -- Optional, if you want to find oil before advancing then research this, if you don't care and want to advance faster then wait on it.
  4. Diplomacy (100 Knowledge) -- Optional
  5. Then save up for the 2,000 Knowledge needed to get to the Modern Age (second age) where your life will begin to get easier.

Remember in the Modern Age (second age) it costs 200 Food to train each worker so start saving soon...
