Why Banning Is Needed

Banning is certainly needed in UWars. Why? To keep UWars safe, of course. Moderators are given their positions to enforce rules, and ban as needed. More on that later.

Moderators

Moderators are very special people. If you want to learn more information about the moderators, then please visit our page on Staff for brief bio's. Moderators are people dedicated to making UWars safe for all players of all ages. While they are here to keep the chat and forums in check, you can also have a stimulating conversation with them.

Moderators and the Forums

Moderators can post and talk just like everyone else. However, the moderators, developers, and manager have a power that no one else has. They can lock and delete threads, edit or delete posts, and give bans for spamming.

Forum Rules

You can find all of the rules for the forums in our Getting Started section. Moderators enforce these rules, and disobeying them can lead to bans. Ban lengths are based on the severity of the infraction. Spamming is posting the same thing over and over, posting many posts in succession, and posting more Smilies than words. Flaming is posting just to insult, gripe, or bring down another player.

Moderators and Chat

At least one moderator is present in the chat room most of the time. Unlike the forums, chat room disobedience leads to a warning, and then to a ban after the player does not comply. Days of ban are based in accordance with the severity of the infraction. Bans are a minimum of 1 day, and some Moderators are willing to ban somebody for the entire round if need be.
White, invisible, and nearly visible writing are all infractions.

How to Handle Bans

If you are banned, you should never go to the forums to rant, complain, or argue the ban. It will never work!! At most, arguing the ban will give the moderators a reason to dislike you. If you are banned, you can [/page/mail mail] the moderator that banned you to make sure of the infraction, so that you can discuss and understand better. Apologize. But never complain.
